Mountain View Fire and Rescue collaborates closely with regional agencies to deliver exceptional fire and emergency medical services to our community. With three fully staffed Fire Stations (92, 96 & 98) operating 24/7, we maintain a team of approximately 35 dedicated career personnel, including Captains, Lieutenants, and Firefighters.
Our rigorous hiring process begins with sourcing potential candidates from Public Safety Testing. Selected individuals undergo thorough Oral Board Interviews (typically with a panel of 3 interviewers), followed by Chiefs' Interviews for the top candidates. Conditional and formal offers are extended to those who demonstrate the skills and commitment we seek, and who are qualified.
Recruits receive comprehensive preparation, including 4-6 weeks of pre-academy training, before embarking on a rigorous roughly 4-month-long academy program with the esteemed South King County Fire Training Consortium.
To gain insight into our district and our operations, we invite interested individuals to participate in a Civilian Ride Along or reach out to us via email at info@mvfire.org with questions. We welcome the opportunity to engage with our community and potential candidates and to share more about our vital work.
